Zecca is dedicated to cucina regionale, the true regional food of Italia (no tourist fare here).
Bringing the old recipes back to life, Ben looks to the past for his menu inspiration and doesn’t reinvent the wheel. Certain dishes aren’t called classics for nothing! Our food is not modern Italian, we are sticklers for tradition.
Our short daily changing chalkboard menu for lunch and dinner relies mainly on whatever best quality seasonal produce our local farmers drop in to us, and letting the produce shine.
Not overworking or complicating high quality fresh ingredients forms part of our philosophy.
You might see the name of a local farmer or producer you know on the back of our menu, along with a glossario of Italian terms used in our menu if you get stuck (and hopefully learn some new lingo)!
Cast your eye into the cucina and you will see Ben, Simone and the team making our pasta fresh every day, curing our own salumi, preserving our fruit and veggies – the list goes on. Each and every item on our menu has been prepared from scratch by us, for you, with love, per sempre!
We have a small impressive selection of locally grown, Riverina produced Italian varietals on our wine list, with some special uncommon Italian imports as well.
We are also lucky to have several very tasty local craft beers on offer, together with classic Italian aperitivi and digestivi from all over Italia. Salute!
We change our menu regularly as life is too short to eat the same food all the time, so you will always try something new. Mamma mia how good is that.
